RolePages has recently implemented an Experience Points system which is reflected both on the left hand side of your profile, and on the leaderboards page located at: http://www.rolepages.com/leaderboards

The experience points system is based off of trackable activity on the site, as well as admin awarded points for excellence and participation. The following are the points required to achieve each level and rank.

Level 1 – Beginner: 100
Level 2 – Peasant: 200
Level 3 – Commoner: 300
Level 4 – Citizen: 400
Level 5 – Novice: 500
Level 6 – Apprentice: 1000
Level 7 – Squire: 2000
Level 8 – Journeyman: 3000
Level 9 – Adventurer: 4000
Level 10 – Professional: 5000
Level 11 – Experienced: 7000
Level 12 – Noble: 9000
Level 13 – Adept: 11000
Level 14 – Expert: 13000
Level 15 – Elite: 15000
Level 16 – Champion: 18000
Level 17 – Master: 21000
Level 18 – Warlord: 24000
Level 19 - Chief Warlord: 27000
Level 20 – Elder: 30000
Level 21 - Wise Elder: 34000
Level 22 - Ancient Elder: 38000
Level 23 – Overlord: 42000
Level 24 - Epic Overlord: 46000
Level 25 – Legendary: 50000

The following actions are activities which will automatically earn you points on the site.

Making a comment
Publishing a Blog
Participating in a discussion
Joining a Group
Creating a Group
Uploading a Photo
Uploading a Video

Admins will also reward additional experience points to members for posting particularly well made blogs, pictures, and videos, as well as DM’ing missions, coming up with interesting plot twists, and posting IC videos and pictures.

It’s important to note that the experience points system does not have anything to do with the in character strength or ability of a particular character. Rather it is a fun way to keep track of relative and long term activity on the site. The competition should also help to encourage more participation in every aspect of the community.

We’d love to get your feedback on the system.  Do you have any concerns? Have you noticed any glitches? What do you think about the Level pictures and points system? Let us know by replying below.

So if you make a comment on someones page, but decided to delete it later after they have responded, do you still keep the points? Or does it drop?

If a post or comment is deleted, either by the user or by an Administrator, then the points are deducted from the total score.

Cool, thank you!

Love the points system by the way. Its fun to see all the different pics and levels.

Another question, do comments count in groups as well, and your activity within that group?

It might something that would be cool to add points for and get people just as active in groups as they are in chats and their comments.

First off, I'd imagine the groups would add points to the Discussions AND comments, because you can comment the group via the mane page or make Discussions within the group...

Another thing, if one were to post a comment on a profile - but the owner of said profile were to delete his/her comments, would the post be deducted from said posting party's profile? If so, that should be changed so the points stay, unless the post was unacceptable. I clear my comments often, and I'd hate to deduct points from others, when it's simple RP requests, hello's, or questions...

You're going down Rommy!

I must say I agree with all of the Point you bring up (The Red Rogue). I definitely want to feel like I am deducting points from others.

My only question is if the worlds are supposed to be counted as groups or not. That part confused me a bit...

I dont think the system is particularity fair say if i spent an hour or so on a long blog that i put my heart into i would only gain a few points whereas if someone just posted aload of blogs with just pictures and one line of text they would have a higher level than me

Unfortunately it is inherent to the system that when a post is deleted, the points are deleted. This helps to prevent people spamming in order to gain points.

Groups and Worlds are the same thing. Groups is the native name used by Ning for that feature. It was renamed to Worlds so that the feature would fit in better with a roleplaying environment where there are many locations.

The automatic point system can't, of course, judge the quality of any content posted. However we are reaching out to various individuals who will be "Point Admins" - They will be given the ability to reward a character experience points based on the quality of a post, or actions taken in the chat.

At the same time the experience point system does not necessarily have an effect on any in character worlds, or storylines on the site. For now it is simply a fun way to track your progress as you post content and participate in activities across the community.

If anyone visits their profile and finds that they have not earned any experience points, despite having taken past actions, what you need to do is activate the system. This can be done by taking any action that will earn points, including participating in a discussion, posting a comment, etc etc. Once you have done one activity which is counted by the system, it should be able to go back and retroactively count all past activities, and award points for them.
