She ran across the fields of grass, running into the forest, dodging trees and rocks as the almost full moon lit the way. Her white fur swaying in the cool breeze as she ran, feeling the smooth soil beneath her paws. She howled as she ran, hearing several more howls in response.

Suddenly she ran into an open field and stopped. She had reached her destination. Smiling, the white wolf walked toward the stone archway, seeing the Otherworld, still and peaceful as it had always been. She stopped at the arch and closed her eyes, shifting back to her human form.

Her fur disappeared, her ears shrunk back down to human size, her muzzle shortening back to a normal human mouth. Her canine teeth shifting back to her human teeth, her tail going back into her spine until there was nothing. Claws were shrunk down to fingernails and her paws returned to human hands. Her brownish blonde hair reached down to mid back. Her amber eyes going back to their natural blue color.

Looking at the archway, she stared into the Otherworld, smiling happily and eager to enter. She looked at the stone dragons, bowing before them in respect, then walked through the arch and into Otherworld, the entrance shimmering and becoming hidden once again as if there had been no one there.

She breathed in the clean and fresh air as she walked calmly towards the castle, hearing the waves of the ocean nearby, crashing into the cliff the castle was near. The grass felt cool and soft under her feet, also getting wet from the dew. She loved the feeling and enjoyed it.

When she reached the castle, she looked around.

Everything was clean and rejuvenated. It had taken her a long time to rebuild and clean everything here but she succeeded.

As she looked around, she stopped and stared a bit. "So quiet and empty."

She hoped others would find the entrance leading to Otherworld. It was nice here but she was the only one there with no one to talk to, except for the animals and other creatures that lived there. She wanted someone that was like her to find this place and discover how beautiful and fascinating it was here.

She went back outside and sat in the grass, her jeans getting wet but she didn't care. She smiled as she remembered the first time she discovered this place, being excited and running around like she was free. But she kept asking herself why only she discover it first.

The shapeshifter answered her own question in a whisper. "Everything happens for a reason."

He nods.  "What of your family? What became of them?"
Loziras nods sympathetically.  "I left my family at a young age, I did not even meet them till I was sixteen years old, well in the count of my world's years."  He looks down on the boy.  "Why would they abandon you just because you are Lycan?"
Loziras grinned ruefully.  "Sure, what would you like to know young'un?"
His smile fades a bit. "That is a long long tale, are you sure you wish to hear it?"

Loziras smiles wryly.  "Well you're already so excited to hear so why not.  It started fifty years ago back in my home.  An arch daemon came to the land of Ulrick with malicious intent, and began a campaign that covered the continent in war for the better part of those fifty years.  Back then I was fifteen, only an apprentice warrior."  His eyes take on a far off look.

"I didn't know who I was really, I still thought I was human...and then she showed up...my life's been thrown on it's ear ever since Morah arrived at my home."

He grins a bit. "Oh a whole lot more, fifty years of war, strife, love, loss, death, horror.  The things I saw and did were terrible and great.  But if you wish I will quote the highlights, is that satisfactory my young pup?"
He looks down at the river, then touches a single skeletal digit to the surface, creating a low bridge of ice to cross.
Loziras looks up surprised.  "You've never seen magik?"
He continues along side the young Lycan.  "Well where I come from most of what I can do is considered parlor tricks.  There are mages in Ulric who can sculp the living rock into whatever form they desire."
Loziras smiles.  "If you were born within Ulric's borders, you would've been apprenticed to the Magistratorium from a young age to develop your gifts.  Unlike you I cheated a bit.  Reapers are latently adept in all Magikal arts.  Of course it comes at a price."
He touched the tome at his hip.  "I'm really not looking forward to this."
Loziras grimaces a bit.  "Well there is only two portals that we can link to on my world, and neither are what you would call ideal."
