Where Anyone is Possible
If you go to your profile, scroll down to where you entered your profile information, and click 'edit' you will find a new question available to you. This is a multiple choice question with ten options allowing you to identify the broad species categorization of your character.
If you choose one of these options your character will be automatically sorted into that group, and a tag will be placed across your profile picture indicating your species. The current categorizations available are as follows:
You also have the option of choosing N/A, or of not answering the question at all, and no badge or membor categorization will be assigned.
These are broad categories, limited by the fact that the system only allows 10 possible automatic options based on profile questions. However other races can be created, and in the future we may entertain the option of allowing members to take on more specific categories.
Right now we want to know what you think. Do you like the 9 broad categories available as they are? What do you think of the colors we chose? Everything can still be changed so let us know your opinions.
On a related subject, you may have noticed the addition of experience points to member profiles. This is a new option that is still in beta, and we are working to get all the kinks out before we officially release it. As soon as we are ready all member XP counts will be reset based on past activity and we will be able to assign levels and rankings. More to come in the days ahead.
Its pretty sweet if I do say so myself
I think the colors and design Is both attractive and very cool. I cannot use them however since Dracy Is a "Ghost" or "Spirit" catagory would fit :/
After some discussion we are going to try changing 'Divine' to 'Celestial' as we think that will cover more characters. Hopefully that will also fit you Dracy. If not we would still like to hear more suggestions from you, and everyone.
I would have thought ghosts fall under undead? There's no way of making this SUPER SPECIFIC I'm afraid, so you're going to have to choose the one that fits best.
If we could pick whatever we want, then I'd ask for "Soulless Abomination" to be a suitable category.
Celestial works Joseph ^_^ Thank youz. I understand carol.
celestial is actually good and bad, i think
We intended Monster to be used as a description for non-humanoid characters, Gargoyles, Dragons, Gryphons, and similar creatures.
Celestial, on the other hand, refers to any character that is religious or spiritual in nature. It does not necessarily denote morality or alignment. During the Soulless war story arc the Celestial army was comprised of gods and devils, angels and demons.
Ghosts, souls, and spirits can all fall under a religious, a mythological, or a spiritual category so Celestial should cover them as well.
However, we are still working on this and modifying the titles slightly, so please continue to submit feedback and suggestions.
^Giggles^ It's already become a popular thing. It was a wonderful idea ^-^
*Picked undead for spirital possession of a reconstructed body. - Thinks Spirit fits under undead.*
UPDATE: Due to an unforseen limitation in the system, choosing the blank option does not remove the tag from your profile picture. As such we have been forced to add the category N/A for those who do not wish to associate with a particular species group.
Unfortunately the limit of the options available is 10, so one option had to be sacrificed for this. After much discussion it was decided that the Shifter option could be removed, as it was covered under either "magical" or "Nature"
If you feel that another species group should have been sacrificed for this option please let us know. Thank you.
