The Hunger Games Arena

Information

In a not-too-distant future, North America has collapsed, weakened by drought, fire, famine, and war to be replaced by Panem, a country divided into the Capitol and 12 districts. Each year two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games. Part entertainment, part brutal intimidation of the subjugated districts, the televised games are broadcast throughout Panem. The 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors, literally, with all citizens required to watch.

Comment by Katniss Everdeen on March 30, 2012 at 12:52pm: Perched above in a high willow tree, Katniss sighed faintly, silently glancing below to scan the area for a moment. She paused to listen for any abnormal sounds, before straightening up and carefully climbed up a bit higher, stopping at a fork between two branches. She settled in, but still feeling unsure, latched an arrow to her bow, her eyes narrowed as she gazed below.

Comment by Katniss Everdeen on March 25, 2012 at 10:34pm: I run through the forest as fireballs, as small as a apple destroy trees. The fire takes over the forest. I run as fast as I can as my hydration lowers, and my appetite starts to hurt my stomach, as it grumbles.
