But he really did mean well and he just wanted to protect Lori and Carol the best he could. When Rick came back after he was sure he was dead, I think Shane just really felt replaced and he let his anger and jealousy get the best of him.

In the first episode after Hershel had stepped between that zombies legs, I knew that something may happen. But all he was thinking of was his daughters voice and for a moment he let down his guard. I was so glad to see that he survived. It still fills a little wierd without Shane Walsh though.
