She sat high in a tree, her dark skinny jeans and tight jet black t-shirt coated with mud and dirt. Grit and dust covered her cocoa skin, bringing out the dark green of her irises. A recurve bow sat comfortably in her lap, body tensed and alert for every sound. A deer quietly treads the forest floor, hidden within the greenery. It stepped into the clearing, right in her line of sight. Swathed in the eerie shine of the moonlight, its pelt turned angelic silver. So beautiful.
But the women brushed back the hair that had dared to escape her ponytail, raising the bow and pulling the arrow back. The arrow snapped forward as it slid past her fingers, whistling through the air. It embedded itself into the dear’s neck with deadly precision. The deer shrieked, its feet scrapping clumsily against the earth as it tried desperately to escape. The poor thing made it about a foot before collapsing. Blood pooled around its body, staining the forest floor a glistening scarlet. It gasped and kicked, its mouth agape in a silent scream of agony.
Reloading another arrow, she shot it off neatly. This time it sliced through the skull, permanently ending the deer's struggles.
