Where Anyone is Possible
I am not my body. Not my mind. I am... I am the old trunk, filled with ancient mysteries.
I am the explosion in the college laboratory.
I am the mask that burns with the fires of vengeance.
I am the legend that unites this nation.
I am the story of Doom.
Victor Von Doom.
Victor Von Doom was raised by gypsies in a small European county called Latveria. He lost both of his parents at a very young age. Swearing revenge, Victor began to increase both his scientific and mystical knowledge with such determination that he was given a full scholarship to Empire State University. It was at ESU that Victor met Reed Richards and Ben Grimm, and where he started his extradimensional research. Doom's vanity prevented him from adjusting the schematics to one of his experiments, and the end result was an explosion that scarred Victor for life. Expelled from school, Victor began to travel the world, eventually stumbling upon a village of Tibetan monks who trained him and crafted him a suit of body armor, complete with face plate. He soon returned to Latveria, overthrew the government and crowned himself King.
The Past of Doom: Doctor Doom.
Armed with his genius and the might of Latveria, Victor set for himself three goals: to rescue his mother, to prove his superiority over Reed Richards, and to conquer the world. By this time, Richards and his friends had become the Fantastic Four, so Dr. Doom sought them out and abducted the Invisible Woman. He forced the other members to journey back in time to recover the gems of the legendary sorcerer Merlin for him; but Mr. Fantastic tricked him, bringing back a chest full of chains instead. Although the FF survived Doom's attacks, Doom escaped them by using a Doombot as a decoy. This rivalry with Richards and patterns of his attacks did not cease, which led to Doom becoming a worldwide threat to not only the Fantastic Four, but as time went on, the Avengers as well. But neither teams were able to lay a hand on him, thanks to diplomatic immunity.
The Future of Doom: Iron Doom.
After the near-fatal incapacitation of Tony Stark during the second super hero civil war, Victor abandoned his villainous ways and took up the mantle of Iron Man. But his past actions as Doctor Doom have made it difficult for the world to accept him as a hero.
