Captain James T. Kirk (Son) / George Kirk (Father) - Reunion (Day 2)

George Kirk

George Kirk rose slowly from the bed which he had occupied for the last several days. He had spent little time outside of it, aside from two activities. Eating voraciously, and testing himself. George rubbed at his neck, breathing in the cool air of the still-dark room, before suddenly dropping. He landed in a push-up position, and winced for a moment, before beginning the exercise. Thirty, this time, before his arms gave out. He was beginning to get stronger again. He placed a knee upon the floor, and then rose again to his feet, his hand reaching out the end of the bed for support. He had found himself some more clothing. Jeans and a black tee-shirt, both still slightly too big. After pausing in the bathroom to carefully brush his teeth, and clean the ruin of his mouth, he stepped back, and examined himself. His hair and beard were starting to get longer. He reached up, and stroked his chin for a moment, as he considered the gauntness of his own face. He smirked, and then winked at himself in the mirror, before turning to the door, opening it, and stepping out into the hallway.

Captain James T. Kirk

Kirk should have slept in the cottage with Danvers, but that didn't happen tonight. No. They were both sleeping in the BBCT, because Kirk wanted to be closer to the Infirmary: where George was located, after the Speir scare. Why show up, say nothing and then bugger off? Still, when Kirk heard movement in the infirmary, he slowly got out of the BBCT to set his feet down upon the floor. She'd known that he wouldn't sleep well tonight after that fiasco, and she was right. However, he didn't move from the bed and he's fully dressed. Same old black attire as the day before, save for the leather jacket that adorns his upper body. And then he saw Dear Old Dad, leaving the infirmary, which caused him to smile in return, "Hey Dad"....

Alex Danvers

The BBCT would be their sleeping place for tonight. Which was fine, really. She didn't mind. It was big and comfortable. Danvers was somewhat half asleep and fully dressed, minus the weapons and boots. Aside from that she was fully dressed under those blankets. The cottage was still there so one or a few nights away would be alright. She would rather be here with him than alone in their bed in the cottage. Danvers was well aware of his sleeping problems and figured today would be no different. Even more so with the movement caused by him. That alone made her open her eyes as she looked at him. And then she heard him say hey dad. And so she quickly sat up in bed. Had to look re-presentable and not look like a slouch. ''Hey, George.'' She greeted with a smile.

George Kirk

He glanced around, a bit surprised at the couple sharing a bed in an open Inn. But he smiled to the pair, all the same, and raised a hand in greeting to the two, walking closer to them, until he was in range of James. He reached out, and clapped his hand gently to his shoulder. It slipped away, and his gaze roved the room for a moment. He tipped his head in the direction of the bar, indicating his intent, and then walked in its direction. Via a system of pointing at the menu, and mouthing words, he got his order across. Four eggs, an omelet with spinach, peppers, onions, cheese, and tomatoes, alongside a steak and hash browns. Orange juice, water, and coffee soon arrived, one after the other, and he picked up the mug of the hot, black drink as he turned back to Danvers and Kirk, watching them with curiosity. It was still difficult to believe that this man was his son. And that woman his... Girlfriend? He surreptitiously tried to look for rings upon their fingers.

Captain James T. Kirk

It was nice to get the good morning greeting from his Dad. He seemed t be handling things well, but he was also sleeping most of the time. But in retrospect, forcing him out to do things was not the right path. He needs to take his time, get used to the place, to even himself again. Then get his strength back: and for a fraction of a second, although he closed that right eye with his back turned to the pair. The right eye went YELLOW. It wasn't a flicker. Nor a snap, nor a flash. But his ire is burned with his father’s treatment. Ever. Ever rubbing that right eye, until the YELLOW gets out of it. FIGHTING IT. FIGHTING IT. Eventually: Kirk calms his breaths, eases his mind and tries to find his Center of Being. Even though, technically: he has no weapon within his hand. It's more of a mental image for him to picture, if that makes sense? Though after that cool deception is done? Kirk's smile has returned, as if the ire had never existed, "....Got everything you want for breakfast?", no rings...but there may have been some token agriculture equipment sitting around, toy stuffs, and that ear of corn over there....

Alex Danvers

It was a good thing she didn't see that yellow eye. Because then she would worry even more. Only today had it been brought to her attention. It was not something she had noticed herself. Maybe she was unable to see it or something. Honestly, she didn't know. And that made her feel guilty. She would do anything to help him, to make him feel better. No rings on their hands but other things around them. Like a little cozy sleeping place. Agriculture and corn was their thing. Those two. It just stuck the day they had hours upon hours of discussions about it. Wonderful times. ''The food here is amazing.'' Danvers nodded, hoping George found it as good as they did.

George Kirk

He saw the yellow, and he leaped from the stool he had been sitting in. His own blue eyes widened sharply, and then his features set into determination and readiness for a moment. In the next second, he snatched up the rather blunt knife laid out for his use, and lunged at James sharply, the butter knife aimed directly at his throat, as his lips curled back in rage and betrayal.

Captain James T. Kirk

No sooner did he drop his hand down and dad was? Oh Shit!! "Dad!!!" Kirk screamed, while that knife was literally going for the jugular!!! "...They got me a month ago!!!" Ever powering his hands up with the force! "...I'VE BEEN FIGHTING IT EVER SINCE!" Well, that's new information. However, if allowed? A small force push may have been tried, to send his father a few feet over, away from him?

George Kirk

It was a trick. Another trap, another lie. This wasn't his son. He should have known. And now he /did/, as he stumbled back, crashing into the stools. How much of this was even real? He snarled like an animal, and flung the knife wildly from where he was on the ground, before leaping to his feet, and rushing James again, hands curled into fists.

Alex Danvers

Danvers quickly stood up, now that things were anything but calm. ''What's going on?'' Her gaze went to George and also Kirk. ''Stop! This isn't how it’s meant to be.''

Captain James T. Kirk

As long as he doesn't have the knife, Kirk figures that he could ride it out? He'd be bruised, but what's another one? Especially when it's His Real Dad? Not like he's his adoptive father! But instead of violence, it could show him that he means no harm? Did Kirk fight back at all this time? Nothing. In fact he stood there, waiting for it to happen. Perhaps one of the only times he's ever not entirely defended himself.

George Kirk

George spun sharply as he neared, and slammed his elbow out at Kirk's throat, aiming directly at the Adam’s apple with a blow guided by desperation, fear, and survival instinct.

Captain James T. Kirk

Kirk ducked when that happened, for obvious reasons! And if George flew over Jim, to land into the BBCT, as he ducked: then so be it! "I'm you're flesh and blood!" Quick turning around, and maybe getting some space? If that worked?

Alex Danvers

Danvers already lost her patience for this and aimed her Discord revolver at George. Not to shoot, obviously. But to try and get him to stand down. ''What is wrong with you?'' Clearly not pleased at all. ''He's your son! Does that mean anything to you at all?''

Captain James T. Kirk

"Put that down!!" Kirk ordered!! "PUT IT DOWN!!" While attempting to take it from Danvers: if possible? And then sending the discord weapon to the other side of the room!!?

George Kirk

George was throwing an elbow, not lunging into a tackle, and so, rather than fly over his son, he maintained his footing, and threw his extra momentum into a sharply extended knee at James' face as the younger man ducked. But then there was a weapon trained on him, and no matter the result, he froze, and with a look of disgust upon his face, raised his hands slowly, and backed away.

Alex Danvers

The weapon was put down as ordered of course.

Captain James T. Kirk

"Put it away", Kirk orders, "Out of sight", this was a mess, though the emotions in his eyes were true. Horror. Fear. "Please, dad, put your hands down", yet that wetness is persistent, followed by a sniffle, "...I was taken....onto their Destroyer, about a month ago", he says, "...If you want to leave? I'm going to pray that you don't. There will be no more weapons", he says, "...You're angry with me....What made you?" He asked, "Made you...." His face contorted in such emotions.....

Alex Danvers

The Discord revolver was nowhere to be found currently, due to its nature, she could decide its location. And she raised her hands. ''It's gone. No weapon.'' She reassured both of them. ''I'm sorry George. And James.'' She felt bad for doing so but she was afraid how far the fight might have gone.

George Kirk

He scowled, and then cast around violently, until he took a sharpie from his pocket, and simply scrawled on the table. "You aren't James Kirk." He underlined it twice, and stared at his son expectantly.

Captain James T. Kirk

Stunned. Jim stood there with the revelation brought to light. Though his emotions continued to be tossed around rather violently, "...What would make you...........change your mind?", then he asks, "Winona? I have pictures of her with me in Iowa?" Dangerous James...

George Kirk

He blinked at the thought of those pictures, and then he shook his head. He wrote more on the table. "You're an Inquisitor, in my head. What are you trying to learn?" He wrote with less haste, and now watched Jim more closely... Could he trust what he saw?

Alex Danvers

Danvers' hazel eyes went from George to James and then back, though she remained silent for the time being. There was probably very little she could do here to convince George it was in fact his son.

Captain James T. Kirk

He sat down into a chair, where the table was located: simply trying to get his thoughts together. He's got his own worries about the man in front of him? And he's not even been cleared yet to go back to the Federation. Everything is rather toxic right now with? With? His mouth went dry, but his eyes remained wet, "...Who my father is", it was more of a statement...

George Kirk

What did that mean? He'd been with them the past ten years. They'd stolen every detail that'd ever existed about him, and taunted him with it. Who was he? George suspected the Inquisitors knew that better than he did. The pen wavered in his hand as he watched James, and saw the tears forming in his eyes. He'd seen crueler tricks than this, before. Had /known/ that he was safe, and back with his son, only to have it taken away suddenly, after he'd given up another detail that he hadn't even known mattered to them. It was part of the reason he had destroyed his ability to speak. His eyes narrowed. Too old. Why would they make James too old? Why wouldn't he be back with Star-fleet, rather than some odd Inn. It wasn't logical. And the Inquisitors, despite their monstrosities, typically were. Logical, and methodical... George looked down at the table, and then added another word. "Broken."

Alex Danvers

The word made her frown. She didn't want to think about the things they had put him through for so long. Everything was so new for everyone. Especially James and George, being reunited after so long. They were trying to help him, help everyone. This was definitely difficult for everyone involved.

Captain James T. Kirk

Broken. Jim rested his hand over the written word with the marker, in an act to try to compose himself. Which wasn't going to happen anytime soon. Sniffles. More tears, more blinks to drive that wetness away. Sniffles. "...Ask me questions", it was the safest direction to go with George, right? As for as Jim was concerned, however: he never felt unsure of himself than he did now.

George Kirk

"Why do you have their powers?" it was down almost immediately after James' request.

Captain James T. Kirk

"I have", clearing his dry throat, "The Force, Dad", he admits, "I found out about it on some adventure gone wrong", faint, yet saddened smile, "..In a dream", then grabs a napkin to wipe his eyes, to use for later, "....With a bunch of other people", then stared back up at his father, "....I seem to? Lean to that direction? But I am fighting it", he warns him, "...When I saw you how they treated you.....for the meeting....on the ice....I couldn't hold back my Anger for what happened"

Alex Danvers

Powers. He meant Force powers then. Considering he had only seen them used by Sith, it was understandable that he would assume it was a Sith only thing. Which wasn't the case, obviously. But how did you explain it to someone that was so used to it being a certain way? ''I also have the Force.'' Danvers said softly, to try and prove it wasn't only Sith having this affinity. Seeing James this sad hurt. He was broken too. Suffering.

George Kirk

The Force. The name for their magic. He sat down at the table, and took a napkin himself, if only to write on. He glanced up sharply at Danvers, and then back to Kirk. "You can use it against them?" He wrote, and held it up, for Danvers to see as well as Kirk.

Captain James T. Kirk

"I'm still learning", Kirk admits, "...I've...", looking down to the words on the table, "....I've run into....", he doesn't want to say Speirs name, but he slides his hand over a knife that may be on the table and then just as quickly removes his hand from over top of it, "....It didn't end well"....

Alex Danvers

Danvers' attention was on the question but it drifted to James. ''We could.'' She stated, gently so. ''But we're still both learning.'' And James had the worst so far. The way he was hurting was proof of that. Hearing him talk about it made her frown.

George Kirk

Didn't end well. It certainly ended better for him, than... "Who was the one you killed?" Was the next question on the napkin?

Captain James T. Kirk

He loses even that faint smile, "I got lightening in the Heart, Dad", which may have sped up the coloring to his eyes, the flickers and everything else.

Alex Danvers

She nodded to confirm that this had happened. While she had not seen it herself, Kirk told her almost immediately. And so she knew.

George Kirk

His eyebrows pushed together, and he shook his head, not understanding what he meant. Then he wrote "Electricity?" On the paper.

Captain James T. Kirk

"Lightening", if he could borrow the marker? And if he was allowed, Kirk drew the sparks, the fire: and the heat that radiated right towards his heart that morning. "...I've not been the same since", he confesses, sniffs, "...If they do it again? And again?", while his face crushed into more emotion, "...I'm scared Dad"

Alex Danvers

Force Lightning. One of the trademark powers of the Dark Side. Very powerful. Kirk was right to be scared and worried. As was she. What could she do to help? She had to know. ''I'm scared too.'' Mainly because it was about Kirk and his well-being. But also because she had no idea of how to prevent it from happening again.

George Kirk

His features twisted again, flexing through sorrow, understanding, rage, and then, most of all. Hate. He grunted a low noise, and wrote once more. "We will kill them ALL for what they have done. Never let them do it again."

Captain James T. Kirk

"Dad", he says, "We got to get to Pike out of there", meaning they were more of less over a barrel right now, "...And....maybe even other hostages", there were always more hostages taken, even when others were released. "...We'll get them though Dad. For what they've done to you, to me, to Danvers, to Pike.....to Humanity"

George Kirk

Pike. The name was familiar, if vaguely. A Star-fleet Officer, maybe? But it wasn't important. There was a reason to not fight. "We have to hurry." He wrote, and then added, below it. "They only get stronger from here."

Alex Danvers

Danvers nodded with that as she looked at Kirk and then back at George. ''Those lives will be saved.'' That was the priority. As for what happened to the Sith, that came after. As for them getting stronger, she wasn't surprised. Somehow she had a feeling they were outnumbering the crew as it was. And then them getting stronger? Not good.
