Today we would like to introduce you to both an innovative author, and the intriguing new publishing company that he has created.

Tim C Taylor is a writer who specializes in publishing shorter works of fiction in ebook form. He believes that novellas and short stories are going to play a major role in the future of ebooks, and he already has over half a dozen shorter titles published on Amazon.com and Smashwords.

He has also been published in several print magazines, and most recently got a story into the Newcon Press anthology “Shoes, Ships, and Cadavers’ and Further Conflicts.” These are mostly works of speculative and science fiction, with eclectic topics ranging from the tale of a barbarian space fleet, to the story of the worlds greatest stock market bubble.

His style is fast paced and hard driving, with action leaping at you from the first page and keeping you running right up to the last word.

Mr. Taylor opened a publishing company in May of 2011 called Greyhart Press. The goal of this new company was to take advantage of the lack of short, simple, to the point stories available in convenient e-book form for digital reading devices.

In the companies mission statement entitled “Real Stories for Real People” Mr. Taylor writes:

”What we will not do is confuse you by writing in a deliberately vague manner where you spend the entire story scratching your head wondering what is going on. Nor will we provide stories where there is a lot of hand-wringing but nothing very much happens.”

It represents an interesting shift in publishing philosophies. E-book readers have made it very easy to acquire and digest works of fiction. The emergence of 99 cent novels and free e-books has also shifted the value of those stories. By taking longer works and breaking them into smaller tales and anthologies you can get readers hooked on your writing so that they will become fans and be willing to purchase more works in the future.
