Where Anyone is Possible
The Blue Moon Tavern has been moved within the walls of the neutral, capital city of Consequence. The owner and bartender Harry has been given a location on the North Eastern side of the Merchant Circle district which the Tavern can inhabit. The grounds accorded to him include space for the building itself, as well as 200 yards of open area around it. The Tavern is open to all citizens of Hellifyno and Consequence and is operated under the sole discretion and direction of Harry.
Notable Locations Within Consequence
Merchant Circle: This is a bustling center of commerce and activity where you can find anything from mystical love potions to technologically convoluted dooms day devices. The merchants love to haggle over anything and everything here, and this is a popular place amongst the few tourists Hellifyno still has. However it is also popular amongst pickpocketing gangs.
The Docks: The life blood of Consequence has always been trade, and even in these troubled times the docks are still an active part of the everyday commerce of the city. Ships sail in and out of the docks, loading and unloading a constant stream of goods and produce. The docks themselves are protected by thick outer walls, which stretch across the waters of the bay of Consequence to ensure that ships can get in and out safely.
There are two main forces that run the docks. The big businesses maintain a certain amount of order with guards and soldiers in their private armies. However when a ship is not specifically loading or unloading a high end cargo, the docks are often run by gangs of heavily muscled workers. These are the thugs, the cut throats, and the murderers that make up the dark and dirty underbelly of the city.
The Starport: A bustling hub of activity and travel, the starport is not only a place of commerce, but is also a rigidly guarded military installation that helps to maintain the aerial defense of the city.
Northern and Western Slums: Every city has poorer areas, and the space directly around the western wall is where the undesirables of Consequence congregate. This is a place of shacks and ruins, a realm of beggars and thieves, where the people are even more desperate than in the rest of the city. A place of despair and hopelessness, where you will find the gutter rats of society striving to make ends meet.
The Red Light District: One of the few ways to make it out of the slums of Consequence is to seek employment just north, in the red light district. This is a place of pleasures and perversions, a land of strip clubs and cheap motels, where anything can be purchased... for a price. Butted right up against the southern wall of the palace the red light district is frequented by both the nobles and the underbelly of the city.
Northern and Southern Agricultural Fields: Before taking Consequence the majority of rations for refugees and soldiers alike had to be imported from sympathetic parties off world. Now that the city is theirs, the rebels have knocked down some of the estates of Plainviews supporters, and are using the land to plant a variety of crops that will help to feed the various species and races all congregated within the walls.
Nymph Park: This is a lovely space just off the north eastern edge of the agricultural fields, that has been cultivated as a place of flowers, trees, nature, and serenity. Tended to by the forest and flower nymphs of the city, this space is often cited as being a forlorn love song, written to honor the lost beauty of Hellifyno.
Warehouse District: A place of shady deals and dark deeds. Soldiers and guards rarely patrol here, and things are said to happen in the dark of night. Best avoided unless you have pressing business there.
Industrial Sector: This is the place where the manufactured goods of Consequence are produced. Using factories and plants taken from Plainview when the city was conquered, the rebels are now using this sector to fuel the production of weapons, armor, and armaments for their cause.
Finance District: Once a place of bankers and investors, this has now degraded into the home of several powerful organized crime syndicates representing various interests across the city. Generally a safe, clean, peaceful place to do business, on occasion violence does break out between rival entities, and blood can be shed, but will also be covered up almost immediately.
Harbor Islands: Heavily fortified military installations which are ruled completely and totally by the commanders of the army.
Barracks: There are three main barracks which house the soldiers who are both the defense, and the police force of the city. The three outer barracks are set strategically against outer walls so that soldiers can react to attacks swiftly. They are also placed in some of the poorer, more volatile parts of the city so that troops can act as natural enforcers of the peace. There is also a main barracks located in the Hellifyno royal palace which houses the majority of the reserve soldiers.
Hellifyno Royal Palace: Carved directly into the side of a mountain that towers over the Northern edge of Consequence, the royal palace is a place of both military might and elegant formality. The outer walls are dotted with hundreds of cannons and defensive installations, while inside you will find a massive palace, built to impress dignitaries and important guests with the grandeur of its architecture.
The Sewers: The convoluted waste management and water distribution tunnels that run beneath the city of Consequence hold many secrets and many dangers. It is said that dark and twisted monstrosities make their homes down there, that death cults still stalk the dark of the subterranean tunnels, and that the criminals of the city use these paths as a way to move quickly, and unseen by law enforcement officials above.
