Lasair Huon

Intro Video

“For a star to be born, there is one thing that must happen: a gaseous nebula must collapse. So collapse. Crumble. This is not your destruction. This is your birth.”

Distinguishing Marks: Freckles across her cheeks and nose, and she has a small phoenix tattoo just to the right of her spine, near her shoulder blade

Mental Health: Lasair is fairly healthy, mentally, though she is shy and reserved with most people unless on a one-on-one basis. When she’s only interacting with one person, she can be friendly, compassionate, and very upfront with them. Otherwise, she sticks to herself and displays a bit of social anxiety.

Physical Health: Like a phoenix, she is extremely healthy. She has no scars, no signs of any past physical trauma. She never gets sick, and she doesn’t get drunk even if she doesn’t drink alcohol very often.

Phoenix Physiology: The user with this ability either is or can transform into a phoenix, a mythical, sacred fire-bird that symbolizes rebirth, immortality, and renewal in the mythologies of the Arabian, Persian, Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Chinese, Turkish, Indian and Phoenician/Canaanite people. Phoenixes are described as birds with a colorful plumage and a tail of gold and scarlet (or, according to some legends, purple, blue, and green) with a 500 to 1,000, or even 1,461-year life-cycle. Near the end of its life, a phoenix builds itself a nest of twigs or whole trees that it then ignites; both nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes, from which a new, young phoenix or phoenix egg arises, reborn anew to live again.

Grand Flame Manipulation: Power to create flames that cause Semi-Immortality or Mass Resurrection. Sub-power of Pyrrhic Spectrum Manipulation.

Ash Resurrection: The user is able to revive themselves upon death, either instantly or after some time, turning into ash or bursting into flames.

Mesmer Half: With specific hand gestures, Lasair can manipulate animals to her will. Most Mesmer can do this with humans, Fae, and other humanoid beings. However, those Mesmer are full, powerful, and generally far older than she is.

“Kiss of Life”: With minor injuries, Lasair can kiss the wound to heal it.

Healing Flames: With critical injuries, Lasair can use her flames directly to heal someone else.

Lasair was born to a Phoenix female and a male Mesmer. Her father was killed shortly after her birth, the other Fae infuriated that a “Dark Fae” would fall in love with someone considered to be a “Light Fae.” She was cast out of either Fae Court, relying on her mother to raise her in tandem with the other Phoenixes. Lasair was dark, arrogant, believing she could never be killed. While this was partly true, there are always forces that can kill a Phoenix.

She was on Hellifyno, shortly after her maturity, and she fell in love once. She was left, abandoned, and this caused her to return home. During her time back in her world, she learned of her mother’s death, that the other Fae had finally hunted her down and killed her. When her mother was revived, she had lost all memory of Lasair, all memory of her father, and was little more than a slave to the others. This caused Lasair to fly into a rage, killing most of the Fae that had been responsible, until they finally caught up with her and forced her to “reset” herself.

n this life, Lasair is different. She didn’t have her mother to raise her and relied on the other Phoenixes that she could find. She’s less arrogant this time, and her appearance is even different. She’s more innocent, more compassionate, and the fact that she looks a bit younger this time is a clear indication of her changes.

She hadn’t been back on Hellifyno long when she met Daesyn Huon, who she considered her Knight in shining armor. The relationship between the two hasn’t gotten very far, but she does care for him deeply. This doesn’t stop her from trying to meet other people and making new friends. She does prefer to meet them in a one-on-one setting, shying away from crowds as often as she can.

After an accident on the planet, Lasair was killed. At least, that’s the official story. No one’s entirely sure what really happened, just that she died. When she came back? It was as a child, a girl of about eight years old. This time, she doesn’t have the freckles. But she’s still got her signature red hair, green eyes, and love of sweets. She also had another personality shift, and this time she’s a little more outgoing and jovial than the last time.

She immediately went out in search of Daesyn after she was revived, officially moving in with him once the two were reunited. It didn’t take long for her to get herself back to the state she’d been when she died, but things had changed. Not only are her Fae powers a bit stronger, allowing her to actually use her Mesmer abilities, but she also had a craving for blood. From time to time, she actually does have fangs.

Finally, after all that time together, Lasair and Daesyn got married. The ceremony was a small one, really only consisting of Daesyn’s family, but it was everything she could have ever wanted. Now? Well, she’s still not a fighter, but she is in search of a job that utilizes her skills as a healer.
