The Raven Child

Intro Video

Do not go gentle into that good night,

Old age should burn and rave at close of day;

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,

Because their words had forked no lightning they

Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright

Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,

And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,

Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight

Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,

Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.

Do not go gentle into that good night.

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

– Dylan Thomas

Who Am I...

We are the Ringed Reavers, come from the North. Where we go, we bring war.

My Story Is...

yet unsung. One day, they shall chant our name in sagas innumerable. We will not pass into the dark without having set the world ablaze and carved our legend into its crust.

My Appearance

Universally tall and well-muscled, with dark hair, sharp features and eye colours ranging from dark reds to midnight blues. They are rarely seen without their black armour, which bears the insignia of a raven.

The Reavers – a legion of superhuman knights, in synthetically-enhanced battleplate and long, ragged cloth robes. With little need for enchanted weapons, these towering fighters storm into battle with Archontas shortsword and Kynigós rifle, devoid of fear or mercy. They are war and slaughter incarnate.

The Raiders. While the Ravagers are ascended warriors far above what any human could achieve, the Raiders are true champions among the Ringed Reavers, engaging the enemy at close quarters with sword and shield. Notably fierce and skilled melee combatants even compared to their fellow Reavers, they are the first into battle and the last to retreat.

The Ravagers – standing above even their Reaver brethren in both stature and fighting ability, the Ravagers are airborne combatants bringing death from above. Each one wields twin Kýrios pistols and Vasiliás greatclaws, though some eschew the latter for an Ouranos greatsword. In the North, they served as monster hunters able to engage the likes of dragons in the air, though they are just as effective against infantry and vehicles.

The Runesmiths – held in the highest regard among their tribe, the Runesmiths rarely engage in combat, but are as deadly as any other Reaver. Their purpose is the creation of the weapons and armour of the Ringed Reavers, a process which is shrouded in secrecy even to their fellow tribesmen.

The Ravener – in turns the height of a mortal man and accounted to be over ten feet tall on the battlefield, little is truly known of the Ravener besides his inhuman combat ability. A peerless fighter among exalted warriors among superhumans, the Ravener is said to appear in the thick of combat amidst a flurry of ravens and shadows, equipped with the finest of the Reavers’ armoury.

The Armoury

Anileís – Equipment carried solely by the fearsome Raiders, the Anileís shield is borne in tandem with the Íroas longsword for optimal close-range combat. These shields are nigh unbreakable, the weight of what they can withstand only limited by the strength of the warrior behind them.
Geráki – A specialized winged jetpack that allows the Ravagers to achieve a facsimile of flight. The Geráki is so named for its ability to project the Ravagers earthward in great diving swoops, in the manner of its namesake: the hawk.
Hephaistos – the warhammers wielded by the Runesmiths. While they are normally employed to create the unique weapons and armour of the Ringed Reavers, in battle they are repurposed with sundering enchantments, breaking all they touch with massive force.

Íroas – the longswords wielded by the Raiders. These are the weapons of champions, striking down enemies with fearsome grace and precision. A warrior worthy of wielding an Íroas in battle is one who has mastered all forms of the blade, and will honor the name of Íroas – ‘Hero’.

Kýrios – Fully automatic handguns of a strange design. They fire explosive anti-aircraft rounds at an incredible rate. These weapon have no enchantments, but lose nothing in deadliness for it.

Kynigós – A semi-auto capable battle rifle of similar output as the Kýrios. Bulky in the hands of most people, these heavy rifles are built specific to the Reavers who wield them. Upon passing their trials of adulthood, each one is gifted their own Kynigós, and is expected to treat it as an extension of their arm.

Archontas – A rune-graven shortsword, with a built-in power cell in the case of anti-magic. Should its cutting and guarding enchantments fail, its power cell activates, making it a formidable weapon nonetheless.

Ouranos – A long, graceful greatsword of the same make as the Archontas and graven with similar designs, only with vastly increased cutting power due to its weight. Only Ravagers carry this weapon.

Vasiliás – the signature paired claws of the Ravagers, emphasizing their raven heraldry. A singular expression of ferocity, the Vasiliás spring from the large gauntlets worn by the Ravagers upon entering close range, slicing contemptuously through swords and armour alike.

Safíneia – a white close helm used to prevent mind-altering effects. Works against both chemicals and magics.

Nýchta – the word for the night-black synthetic battleplate worn by the Reavers, its forging process a closely-guarded secret. It is specially designed to turn away energy-based attacks and dampen magical onslaughts, its inside covered in runes passed down in an inscription said to come from the Revered Revenant himself.

I Believe...

in our path to glory.
