As far north as north goes, in the frozen reaches of the Northern continent, stands the legendary Skyruler fortress. A massive bulwark built into the face of the tallest peak in the Ogor’s Spine mountain. The fortress was erected thousands of years ago by Silverhide ancestors. Deep snows blanket most of the outer battlements, making them incredibly hard for oncoming armies to spot, especially through the frequent blizzards. The interior is composed of hundreds of tunnels and vaults beneath the battlements, winding deep within the mountain. While there are several hidden tunnels that lead out, there is only one main entrance to Skyruler, through the Wolfhead gate, a monolithic doorway carved in the visage of a snarling wolf. To enter one must step through the jaws.
Historically, Skyruler always held a garrison of warriors whose job it was to maintain order in the northern realm. The fortress was used countless times to fall back to in times of great peril. Easily defensible and difficult to locate, the wolves of Halgan used Skyruler extensively. It was the scene of the famous Last Stand in the Plainview war.
