Fading

Tender hearts, tainted dreams
These are what lead to disaster
Lost and cold, so alone
Deep down inside me is shattered

Wandering eyes search desperately
Hoping that time will pass by to see
Light revives, so pure, so warm
Healing the wounds that I’ve torn

Stealfully, Steadily
Something there, whispers softly
What’s become, now must go
Paths lead up ahead grow narrow

Wandering eyes search desperately
Hoping that time will pass by to see
Light revives, so pure, so warm
Healing the wounds that I’ve torn

What was strong, now grows weak
What’s left of me, now is fading

(Inspired by the disney song, Once Upon a December.)

  1. Tessa Mavagin 9 years ago

Tessa had been laying down, she had been prepared for some story of a torture school, but what he said was… beyond anything she could have imagined. As he spoke, the quicker her breath came and the angrier she became. Not at him… but for him. First they broke the Breakers and then send them off to take out their pain, aggression and suffering on others. It was a sick cycle. Tessa wanted to scream and rage and slap some stupid Seraphim until her hand was bloody. She was on her feet by the time he got to his mothers death. She wasn’t paying attention, but if she had been, she would have realized storm clouds were racing in and there was the distant roll of thunder as the wind picked up.

She met his pain filled eyes and she opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out because there was nothing to say. Then she kissed him, wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing him softly, as rain began to pelt their skin. It fell in angry, large drops and they were both quickly soaked. Tessa pulled away and pushed the damn tendril of hair off his face.

“Don’t give up! Please, Raiden, don’t give up. God, I have no right to ask, no one at this point has any right to require or request anything of you. You have given more then anyone ever should, but don’t let them win. You are better then them!” She wiped her own face of rain and tears, hoping he wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. “You can’t be alone, we can’t be alone in seeing what is wrong here. There have to be others! This is so wrong. Resistance hurts, but it the pain at least reminds us we are still alive. It’s when we go numb that we know we are dead.”
