=======================================================

“Sometime after Red Sun Inn, within the depths of Space…”

-=-

[The Other’s eyes were wild, his smile fanged and broad and his hair flying about him in a dark nimbus as he leapt into outer space, powering through the atmosphere and into the great black void. Already thousands of miles out from the planet he had jumped from, his eyes searched the expanse for something, some form of terrain to make things more interesting… ooh, an asteroid belt in the distant distance! That would do it, he thought, at least for now]

-=-

[Impossibly, he adjusted his angle, ‘braking’ and shooting off towards the line of space rocks, leaving behind a trail of malice and hatred so Kaler would know where he’d gone. “Come along, sunboi!” he called cheerfully, his voice somehow carrying through the vacuum] “I hope you’re sufficiently pumped for the big game; there’s a lot on the line, ya know!”

=======================================================

[Kaler followed suit, having to actually go faster than he had before; at least whenever he were flying casual, or care-free. This time it was filled with care, care to put a stop to Other’s motives, if that were even possible. At least space wasn’t near anyone, so hopefully it would just be them two sustaining damage. He were surprised how fast both of them were going really, as Hellifyno became a dot in the endless advance before vanishing all together. Out here though it was more open, more free]

-=-

[Blink blink, as his far-reaching eyes managed to spot how quickly Other did a 90 degree turn in a way towards the nearby asteroids, causing Kaler to perform similar, albeit more an actual curve but it was at incredible feats of speed nonetheless. He held a look of obvious worry, but hope and hopeful determination. He could speak in space? Strange; not the time to ask questions though, at least not many, just continued to follow him into the belt]

=======================================================

[Once they were properly in the thick of the asteroids, The Other stopped, hanging there with his hair floating all around his face like a black halo, and nodded. This was alright. Now, he decided, they could begin in earnest. He turned around, pushed back his shoulders, puffed out his chest, exhaled at length… and let his first gate slide open. The difference was immediately apparent: Power flooded his veins, luminous black under his skin. Several nearby asteroids dissolved from the sudden pressure he exerted, and he blinked, raising a hand to his mouth]

-=-

“Oh, sorry… didn’t mean to do that yet. Tone it back a little… yeah, alright.” [The shining darkness under his flesh lessened slightly, as he tossed his leather jacket into the dark and grinned. “Let’s dance, sunny.” That was the extent of his warnings, as he blurred forwards and sought to drive his knee into Kaler’s solar plexus. An appropriately punny start, he thought, to this duel for the fate of a nation]

=======================================================

[Well, this was quite the battlefield wasn’t it? Arriving in just behind The Other, moving a little ways away from him to sort of “stand” on a larger Asteroid that was just across the space from his own current positioning. It was desolate, inhospitable, and lonely. Just him and him; Sunny and Edgy, Kaler and Other. He still really didn’t want to have to do this, but here he were, forced into a situation where he really needed to play hero and win; who knows, would Other perhaps wind up too impressed to go ahead with it? Only time would tell]

-=-

[He blinked a few at his first…transformation? But jeez that was some energy output he gave off; it made Kaler clearly afraid of what was to come, but putting whatever out there he had, he let his skin look more “shiny” in a way; I.E. golden Solar energy more so coated and flowed through/around his skin]

-=-

[And then came Other’s first attack. With that, it managed to make contact with his solar plexus, the Alien leaning back at the sudden show of force despite how resistant he were. With that however, he gained baring and attempted to swing legs up from below to bat the Other’s form in a north-west direction behind him, hopefully into another Asteroid, with some considerable force. Weather it hit or not he still got himself to skid across floating stone before pushing his body into the space above, to prepare for the next attack]

=======================================================

[The Other’s eyes widened in delight when his knee connected; however, it seemed he had misjudged how fast Kaler would be to respond, as the leg swing connected firmly with his lithe form and sent him tumbling up through space to crash against that asteroid, making a crater in it with his body. He momentarily appeared winded, before rolling backwards and crouching on the surface of the rock, using it to push off and come rocketing down to deliver a punch straight to the other boy’s temple. He had underestimated Kaler, it seemed, but so too had Kaler underestimated him]

-=-

[Or perhaps, it was that reluctance to put his back into his attacks that had prevented the sunny one from hitting him much harder. His grin dimmed slightly at the notion, but no matter. One by one, their barriers would fall, and they’d be able to fight more earnestly. These musings were pushed to the back of his head as he swung, having a bit better of a grasp on how much physical force Kaler could withstand and scaling up his strength approximately]

=======================================================

[It was very much true; due to how much strength he could possess, Kaler really disliked the idea of going all out on anyone; he had never even tested his limits before, only ever how fast he could fly, not his strength nor durability. He was always scared, worried, afraid of not coming back from doing anything he’d regret after it happened. Though here, in this environment? And this circumstance? He was beginning to feel that he’d have to push aside his fears, if that were possible, for the sake of himself and Twine]

-=-

[The hit landed, yes! With himself now orientated within the space above where the initial blows landed, he turned around to only /just/ calibrate for the hit, however not able to stop it perfectly, and he was sent flying down towards the Asteroid below them. He did his best next, to propel himself back into the air with his hands after pressing against the rocks, to swing back up towards Other; from there, he tried to land three consecutive hits, one uppercut, one down swipe and one left hook, before attempting to bat him back into another Asteroid; potentially too fast or un-calculated, but he put in an attempt at a combo]

=======================================================

[Now this was more like it! The resistance was beginning to seem more earnest, or so he thought. The Other felt his fist connect, the strength partially diverted by Kaler’s careful balancing. He threw out his hand, calling one of the nearby asteroids to him – not soon enough to prevent those strikes from reaching him]

-=-

[The uppercut whacked into his chin, the down swipe snapping his head forwards, but that left hook would instead meet with the edge of that asteroid, shattering it into several pieces. Through the debris, The Other’s crimson eyes gleamed as he reshaped the individual fragments into sharp spikes and sent them flying at Kaler in a slightly staggered order, to make evasion more difficult]

=======================================================

[He would try his best to put power into each of the consecutive blows he launched towards his opponent, wanting for each one to hopefully hit and cause whatever damage was even possible to cause in the first place. One hit; got him! Another hit; yes! Third hit, he- Oh snap! That Asteroid was the thing he punched, not Other! Gladly it was enough force to manage to shatter the entire structure of it without it actually damaging him. But then came the barrage of sharp spikes of stone, at pretty impressive speeds]

-=-

[He couldn’t dodge a few first strikes, scraping along his body but not doing immediate or tonnes of damage however they do scratch up the skin before he’s able to project a sort of shield around himself; this being made of solid Solar Energy, like a ray shield. With that, once the waves end, he gathers it along his right forearm, and directs it to his palm. In as quick of a movement as he could, he pushed forward and fired a large, golden energy beam right towards Other]

=======================================================

[Kaler had adapted to the attack, clever boy that he was! The Other looked on with something approaching pride as his opponent realized that dodging would be difficult and choosing instead to project a shield. Thoroughly enthused with the way their duel was progressing, he opened his mouth, gathered some of the power that was coursing through his veins, and unleashed it from the tip of his tongue in a vibrant blast of utter blackness, almost invisible against the background of space aside from its luminous outline]

-=-

[His beam of power met Kaler’s, striving to overwhelm his opponent’s might with his own. The power within The Other pulsed and swelled as he poured more and more energy into the beam, all while he struggled to refrain from making the obvious joke]

=======================================================[It was one of those typical push-of-wars, one of those cool scenes where beams clash with lots of colourful lighting and sounds! Though sadly this one was a lot more serious and less-than-epic, more intense, and actually life threatening. With as much dark energy he poured into his own, Kaler tried his hardest to force more golden light energy back at him, adding his other hand to pushing the energy forwards]

-=-

[In this moment, Kaler took the time to try and talk back up towards The Other, finding himself able to as he was; magic huh] W-why do you do this stuff?? [Each time he spoke he tried yet another push of that energy against his own] D-do you have no…moral compass? No slither of morale left?!

=======================================================

[The Other listened to Kaler’s questions, finding it remarkable that he could summon the strength and focus to speak while channeling power such as this. So impressed was he, in fact, that he even elected to answer, although since his mouth was currently occupied with blasting a breath weapon of black-light power, speaking would be an awkward matter]

-=-

[Instead, he gave Kaler a tiny little taste of something far worse than energy beams] <None at all~> [jingled his telepathic voice, before he raised both of his hands and fired a beam of equal power to the first from each of them] <Don’t appeal to good sense that I don’t have. Focus up, sunny!>

=======================================================

Tch! [Dang, that didn’t work to any avail at all! So he couldn’t even reason with this person? They were really just, the embodiment of…what, evil? Edge? What was it? He didn’t know, didn’t get it to be frank, but before he could take his mind further to process this, he began to feel his own energy wasn’t enough to hold back his own beams; even with just the one from his mouth, and now he were using two copies from his hands! Slowly but surely his was being beaten back towards him, though instead of fighting back that way, he tried to devise a plan of sorts]

-=-

[He /let/ himself be forced back towards a moderately sized asteroid, around 2x their size, apparently struggling to hold on. Once he were close enough, with one of his hands having moved back to apparently stabilise himself, his fist quickly grasped the huge chunk of rock, and twirling himself out of the path of the beams he lunged it towards Other, just to the right of the path of energy. Weather or not he destroyed it, Kaler himself next bolted forwards to fly /through/ it, attempting to use it to get a clean hook to The Other’s face, either sending him afar, or resulting in bad planning on the Solarian’s part]

=======================================================

[This was getting better by the moment! With each new development The Other sent Kaler’s direction, the sunny boy adapted or strategized accordingly. This was quickly becoming the best fight he’d ever had; certainly more interesting than that idiotic duel with Ragnarok, despite the smaller scale. The asteroid was destroyed in less than a second, but lo! Kaler had flown swift and true, and The Other cut off his beams just as the Solarian reached him and threw that right hook to his face… to which The Other responded by taking the hit, right to his cheekbone]

-=-

[Only this time, he didn’t fly away, nor did he even move. Kaler’s fist would dig into his cheek, and the edgy boy would hang in the void, the excitement in his eyes dulling and hardening. <You’re strong, Kaler,> he thought, each word sharp as a daggerpoint] <Much stronger than -this-. Can it be that even while defending your homeland, you won’t give it your all?> [The Other’s leg snapped up, a kick rising towards Kaler’s chin with enough force to vaporize a  mountain range. Asteroids were flung away through space, some of them disintegrating outright as the blow came flying upwards. The Other was done feeling out his opponent, and had decided to kick it up several notches] <I said FOCUS UP!>

=======================================================

[In an ideal world, when the stakes /weren’t/ that his homeland would be possibly obliterated by this being of malice and edge, Kaler might’ve been enjoying himself a little more. Apart from only a /few/ beings from back on the Earth he came from, he had never had any real, his-scale rough and tumble before. This? This was a real first. Back to reality, his fist connected! He- what? He didn’t /move/, he didn’t /move/!? He-]

-=-

Gack!! [Audibly a crack of astonishment was given, when the superpowered kick made connection to his stomach, rather than his chin; either way this caused his form to cartwheel upwards from where they were, tunneling through two, before impacting and cracking a third asteroid., clearly momentarily dazed, as he could feel as if he took damage, more so akin to being winded]

-=-

[Though from that, came the sensation of energy fighting back the pain, replenishing his motives, his vigor, his momentum. Was this him feeling…himself even? Similar strength correlated to similar force ratios, and he /felt/ his body fill with that weird adrenalin. Using this, in a sudden muster of force, he positively bolted through the space, in a near instant did he move to reach The Other; perhaps even phasing out of “speed”, to deliver a solid right-hook that’d carry a force very much similar to the one he put down on Sunny not long ago; his eyes showed greater fire, like the true show of the Sun; he felt so weird, but so strangely alive]

=======================================================

“Do you see now?” [Roared The Other, eyes blazing with fury and teeth having lengthened into those yellow raccoon fangs of his] “You -cannot- hope to win if you hold back!” [His provocation would be answered as expected -as he had hoped!- with Kaler recovering from that fearsome blow and returning to deliver one of his own. He saw the resolve, the solidification of Kaler’s will, the fire in his eyes, and smiled to himself, but was still, awaiting for that strike to connect… and, indeed, it did, with the requisite force and velocity to make him feel!]

-=-

[The Other was flung away, his bones cracking under the force of that blow, and smashed through several asteroids in his path before righting himself, pushing into a crouch and lifting his head. Half of his ribs had caved under that blow, although the fact that he was alive and intact at all spoke to his resilience] <Now that’s more like it, buddy.> [With a grimace, he got to his feet, and then flashed across the blackness of space at a speed mirroring Kaler’s]

-=-

[His fists blackened and glowed, channeling the immeasurable power blazing through his veins, and applied some of it there, in a flurry of blows fit to shake the mightiest of abominations. Power he reserved for very few beings of might. Kaler was one such being, who had earned this fury, though The Other was smiling once more. At last, they could -fight-!] “Strike, for your home, for your friends, for all you hold dear! SHOW ME YOUR FIRE!”

=======================================================

[When that fist connected to the side of The Other, the energy within Kaler, as if on command, just let it purposely dig into the males body before releasing the area destroying cataclysmic force, before those eyes of the Sun watched his current adversary catapult through a many manner of rocks and debris, crash after crash of dull grey carpeting the black void, before dispersing thanks to forward momentum]

-=-

[This feeling, this driving force of…fire, within him. It was so, /so/ strange that he just had to take this momentary pause to stare at himself, his arms, his hands. Those instruments of damage-inducing, mountain carving, Earth-shattering force, finally let out of the pen to go free. It felt wrong, it felt like nothing he had ever experienced before; internally he hated doing this, but on the outside, he had never felt so…thrilled. His heart; thud, thud, thud, in rapid succession]

-=-

[Adrenaline spiking, eyes lit up brighter than usual, skin coursing with new-found spikes of energy; this may very well be his first step into being truly powerful, and it was much needed in this situation. No longer than a few seconds did The Other return for more blows and attacks. His words just, spiked him further; sure he could still understand who he was, he hadn’t gone insane or Hulk-mad, but he felt more emotionally powerful, angry, and a bit focused. Focused on saving Twine, and beating this one before he could ruin it]

-=-

[His fists too charged, with an energy fit to combat the darkness he wielded, and dashed forwards to clash! Hit after hit, pound after pound; to onlookers it may very well be two people shifting in and out of existence due to the speed, at times like now both he and Other exchanged perhaps multiple punches within rapid successions of each other, punching and blocking at rivalling ferocities. He was trying his hardest, maybe landing lucky blows, maybe tanking his failures too, but he was /finally/ trying more than he usually did]

=======================================================

“There it is!” [the dark-haired boy shouted, flickering through space at ludicrous speeds to strike and counter-strike, matching his opponent blow for blow, taking some and firing back with equivalent force. With every exchange, his attacks grew in strength, even as cracks began to appear across his body. The raw power in his veins began to leak, its sheer pressure seemingly too much for even this mighty body to withhold]

-=-

[Just how much had he generated? This body, ostensibly that of a mortal human, had been supercharged to unreasonable levels for this duel, and it now seemed to be suffering the consequences. For every punch he landed, a new cut appeared on his skin] “The further you reach, the closer we grow…” [But gradually, impossibly, he grew even stronger, even faster, bleeding power all the while. His fists flared up with the black light leaking from them, his hair a blazing nimbus of glowing darkness. And his eyes, devoid of compassion and suffused with paradox, spoke only of entertainment coiled around purpose]

-=-

[This was a celebration to him, a victory that had been won the moment Kaler had risen to the challenge] “…until we reach the limit… and at that barrier-” [The trickling power froze, spiked, and exploded, the myriad of cuts bursting with volcanic force and sending all that gathered energy raging outwards in a supernova of shining cosmic otherness] “-TEAR IT DOWN!”

=======================================================

[How such a small, coincidental meetup in Red Sun had so quickly turned into this level of violence, potential bloodshed, and stakes so high they might shake the fabric of reality with their individual forces, he may never make sense of. Each punch was met with a punch, block was met with a block, kick with a kick, blow with a blow. One could practically hear two people in the background repeating words over and over {{Mudamudamudamudamuda! -w-}} as each blow was thrown. For each hit the Solarian took, less overall damage was shown, due to his body being biologically made to take extreme punishment. However, there were bruises, cuts, scrapes, patches that seemed to have been burnt on by energy perhaps too.

-=-

And yet he carried on, his mind on part auto, just /trying/ so hard to do better than he’s already doing, but at this point it seemed like it was either a stalemate, or The Other was beginning to get the better of the naturally pacifist boy. He could even feel it, just how quickly things were beginning to get outrageously mad; and then this! That explosion of energy, like a nova of bright darkness, that had the alien quickly displaying a wall of that ethereal, outward energy that poured off of his form, gold to combat the dark]

-=-

[An ambitious movement began to form, as Kaler wanted this to just be done with quick, for he felt himself straining at releasing so much energy so quickly, that and the supernova was quickly forcing the alien back a bunch. Those enlarged pockets of his held something from a friend, a weapon, hopefully he could use it to get it over with quick]

-=-

Tchh….I..won’t… [He muttered in a fury, pulling a strange looking swords hilt from that pocket, which resonated in the cover of his body, and began to draw in all those gigawatts of energy outputted by his body, drawing more, and more, and more, perhaps enough to /cut/ the fight here and now] I won’t let you harm Twine! [He shouted through the void and bright otherness, even as it began to cause actual burns to appear and mark his sun-warmed flesh, though he fought through it for this one last blow, the glow now concentrated within the sword hilt, one that suddenly flashed a brilliant golden white, before he yelled]

-=-

BRIGHTEST DAY!! [At that point, the usually small, golden blade erupted in a flash of dazzling brightness, perhaps double his body length, and with it he put all his arm strength into a huge /SWING/ horizontally, to cut the dark with light, push on through, and perhaps land a blow damaging enough to end the fight here and now, the energy arcing out and covering a vast portion of space in brilliance]

=======================================================[Within the immense burst of power he had generated, The Other smiled, feeling all that opposition gathering outside. The galaxy aflame with light and dark, reflected against the burning splendour of the sun. He couldn’t have asked for a better climactic battle. Playing around with metaphysics had its place, but these mighty stellar clashes fired up his engines like nothing else. He pressed it all forwards now, all that he’d channeled through his veins pushing outwards, unreasonable amounts of pressure rupturing his flesh to match that oncoming blow… almost. Almost. The last of the ethereal dark ripped on into space, coming close to tearing reality… and met with all that he’d asked for]

-=-

[The blade, the light, the strength and the fury, coming around in a fearsome arc of devastation and hope, crashed against his malevolence and cut into it, repressed it, denied it with all the resolve in his opponent’s shining soul] “Here’s the limit,” [he whispered, a whisper lost in the churning storm of conflicting energies] “Next time, then…” [His calculation had proven right on the money, to his chagrin. He had hoped to be wrong, but no – this was, indeed, just enough for Kaler to put the full strength of his arms behind the blow, to reach the barrier. But, with any luck, this could be the precursor to the shattering of that barrier, just as it now signaled the shattering of The Other’s body]

-=-

[He felt the blade slicing on towards him, cutting the storm and seeking his flesh. He didn’t move as it came to meet him, throwing wide his arms as if embracing an old friend. And embrace he did, his flesh first parting, then disintegrating, and a prolonged sigh hissed from his blackened lips. The darkness burst apart, and there within he hung – cleaved in twain, with only his chest and upwards remaining. The edgy clothes stripped away and the malicious power drained from his skin, and a look of satisfaction on his pale face]

-=-

“There,” [he murmured, as blood trickled from his mouth] “That wasn’t so hard, was it, sunny?” [He gave Kaler a cheerful wink, as if alluding to an in-joke between the two of them]

=======================================================

[He….he did it. Did he want there to be a set outcome? Where he, oh, simply defeated The Other and beat him to a pulp? Exhausted his combatant of all his energy; if that were even possible? Or utterly annihilate him? In this rather confused, and power-ebbing state of his, he knew not for sure. He just wanted it to stop, now, and it looks like it had. The swing did it, the energy that had began to actually burn his skin to a degree was dissipated by the arc of Solar he let off, swinging in a grand, dominating band of power and hope, which seemed to do the trick of slicing him in two. This was a very new limit of his; never before had he /ever/ done anything /that/ crazy before, though, never had he fought anyone like The Other before either]

-=-

[As quick as it started, it seemed over within a few, key seconds. All was quiet -well it was space-, all was still -mostly-, and the energies of both parties seemed to quiet down and become subdued once again, as if they never existed, or never showed true malace upon the fabric of space. Kalers eyes, a few moments ago akin to a fiery sun, had began to and were soon back to their usual soft, golden glow, albeit a bit lesser due to the strain he went through; the embers and wisps radiating off of him returned into his body, or simply vanished into space, as his body tried to restabilize its usual flow, and attempt to slowly heal off the burns and marks sustained during the climactic battle] Tch….I….w-won…?

-=-

[His feet, tired as they felt yet still capable of standing; even in space; found solace on one of the lesser disturbed asteroids below, allowing him to get his bearings, before those irises of his pinpointed his “enemy”….oh, wow, he really did cut him in two…he did win, though now came the curious thing, but first] Y-yo…u’re…still a-alive….? [Or was it just the last throes of life? Either way, what was to come now? Would they simply part ways back to Hellifyno? He would certainly like to, sleep also sounded good] T-this is….enough….h-hope you had /fun/… [He said in a grumbling sort of way, looking up at The Other, awaiting whatever last little bits of speech he had for the Solarian]

=======================================================

“You did it, sunny. Right to the limit. Of strength, anyway. I’m sure we’ll hit another threshold another time. Depends if I can bamboozle you like this again.” [A sudden elbow on Kaler’s shoulder would signal The Other’s movement to lightly lean on him there as they both floated. He’d done that thing he did in the inn, where he’d seemingly teleported by moving faster than was at all perceptible, and simultaneously breaking a number of laws of physics in doing so. His body had reformed, it seemed, and was externally whole, but blood still trailed from his lips]

-=-

[Had he perhaps forgotten to repair the damage to his internal organs? If the cracking and straining of his voice was anything to go by, he hadn’t, though he somehow still managed to sound smug and self-assured] “Riddle me this, you sweet, gullible boy – if I REALLY wanted to destroy Twine, why would I tell you before doing it?” [He moved again, this time to gently encircle Kaler’s shoulders with his arms, in a weird, affectionate embrace] “It was an incentive, you see… to bring you here, to this point. To where you’d put every last bit of strength in those arms into swinging your sword”

-=-

“That’s where a hero begins, my friend, but a beginning is just that. Not only must you abandon your inhibitions – you must transcend your capabilities. And to do that, you must lay bare your soul, as we came close to doing.” [He rested his chin on the other boy’s shoulder, smiling deviously] “Yes, you -won-. Didn’t you -like- it? Letting your guard down and going all out?”

=======================================================

[In an ideal world, or at least, one where he thought he completely understood how The Other worked, and his intentions behind things, Kaler would’ve wanted to just…punt him again, at first. Though now? He was rather beat, and so just sat/floated through the void for a bit, the blade on the sword vanishing into the vacuum, as he planted the hilt back into his right pocket again. Nor did he really move him away when he just, poof, arrived back against his back, again, just like before, back there when they had the initial encounter that began all this]

-=-

[For now, and maybe forever, he didn’t question /how/ The Other managed that, his body just reforming suddenly, and what exactly he meant by “just the physical limit”; could he do more than that? He didn’t even know, and didn’t exactly want to know for now. Why….why /would/ he tell Kaler…the boy began to think about that one, just staring out into the space beyond them, encompassing them and rendering their previous brawl one lost in time, now just tranquil silence filled the realm; only their ethereal-travelling voices could be heard] Y-you would…..to get me to fight….t-to get me to let go…that’s why, w-wasn’t it…?

-=-

[He asked, looking back to the one who now somewhat hugged the Solarian. This was just…confusing, how varying and incomprehensible his attitude and personality was, so the apparent affection was one that made him a tad bit awkward, but still he listened in] S-so this entire time….y-you’re like, what….a-a master getting their apprentice to just….let go? [And he had done that, he /did/ let go, if not for a few moments, his /first/ moments, yet he did it. And then…how did it feel? Raising the now rather cleaned up right palm, he seemed to flex it a bit, as if recalling from muscle memory just how much it felt to go beyond like that. It was….scary]

-=-

[Worrying, dangerous, deadly, somewhat frightening. And yet. It were empowering, thrilling, controllable, and in some ways, comforting] I….”liked” it….i-it’s different than…well, normal…i-it felt almost…natural? [He did give off an airless sigh however, looking down towards the stones and rocks below and all around them] B-but….it’s worrisome….unlike you, I think I’m more concerned of…hurting everyone else. [Harming people during conflicts involving him was the last thing he wanted]

=======================================================

“If you want to think of it that way. I’m just achieving my ends, y’know? But ain’t it perfect?” [He extended a hand, gesturing at the asteroids all around them] “The incentive, the battleground, and an opponent who wouldn’t get hurt. Well, not too hurt, anyway.” [The Other’s smile could practically be felt, rather than seen]

-=-

“Now you understand, hmm? Now you -see-… how it might be to unleash yourself. Letting out bottled-up power can be an addictive thing. Best to acclimate yourself to its use, so you don’t go power-mad on those rare instances you have to let ‘er rip. Holding back all the time is nothing less than a disservice to yourself, your allies and your opponents. They deserve you at your best, no~?”

-=-

[He drifted away, reaching out to pull his black jacket from the darkness of space and shrug it onto his slender shoulders] “Of course, you probably know better than to take what I say at face value… or do you?” [Was he being earnest or not? It all depended on what his intentions were. The blood ceased dripping from his mouth as he slowly melded with the emptiness around him, becoming first insubstantial, then ethereal, then nonexistent altogether] “Bye-bye, sunny. Go get some rest, you’ve earned it.”

=======================================================[All of which he said there to begin with was true, in a way that Kaler wanted not to be, but at the same time, it all worked out in that sense. The Other had gotten cleaved in two, yet, here he were back together as if nothing had happened to say otherwise. And their surroundings, the depths of space, within a desolate asteroid field; perfect conditions for not harming others. It’s as if he set this up for the Solarian from the beginning] I-I….guess so…..f-for the longest time I had felt um…p-pent up I guess…afraid of going all out…

-=-

[This was true; Kaler feared going all out around others, especially now seeing what he could do. But, hey, he had to try and train himself to do better, right? In fact, he had an idea taken from this, for the forecasted space habbitation the nations have been speaking of recently, but that’s for later. And they did deserve him at his best. He didn’t know if he’d ever work out of how timid he can be, but confidence in fighting? He thinks he could try to work on that. Looking up towards The Other as he did the weird jumper trick, he gave another airless sigh] W-well…not like I really trust you….you’re too confusing anyway…

-=-

[There was the slight notice of a chuckle there, and then, he was gone, leaving the boy alone in space. But not for long. Taking his rather worn out self through the vacuum a little, before his energy managed to summon a portal, out of the way of the rest of the asteroids. And then, he just flopped right on through and onto the plains of grass stretching across Twine, where in an instant he fell asleep.
