Diana and Kirk – (RSI) Picnic Tables – Evening – 7.27.17

Captain James T. Kirk

Outside: Kirk wasn’t too far from those picnic tables. Ever: trying to clear his mind. Ever: trying to push through the tangles of webs, that are so far embedded, into his mind. His system. Sitting. Dressed in that, seemingly with a Bulls-Eye-Target-On-His-Back: Blue Survival Suit.

Kirk Sits Alone. His back turned to the Inn. Quiet. Disturbed. Quiet….

Diana Prince

And well, once outside, spotted someone. Again. But this was Kirk, she knew. More so due to the blue. So it must have been Steve that she saw. Or thought she did. Being away from the person you loved was painful. At times she wondered if she should stay with him, rather than being here. But what if the crew failed if she left? She would be unable to live with herself if she let that happen. For a moment she stopped, unsure if she should disrupt him. Although maybe he just needed someone to talk to. ”James?” No formality, this time. It happened often though, so it was good. The question was careful, though. If he wanted to be alone, she would respect that.

Captain James T. Kirk

Kirk heard Diana, but he’s been hiding secrets again. Guilt. Commitment. Loss. Overwhelming Pain. “Diana?” His back to her, not changing…

Diana Prince

She wanted to ask if he was alright, though she felt it was a silly question. Even if it would be genuine. He was hurting, Alex was hurting and Kara. ”I did not mean to disrupt you, if I am.” She was honest about that. Most of the time she was honest, really. Sometimes to a fault. ”Just know that you are not alone. We are all here.” Diana also wanted that to sink in. ”Even if I am somewhat spread thin today.” Having to check on Alex and then Kara. And now James. And then there was Steve. How she wished she could be at four places at the same time.

Captain James T. Kirk

“Can you sit here with me?” Kirk asks, though it’s almost a plea. When does Kirk: ever plea to anyone? Rarely, if ever. EVER….Kirk and Diana are out at the picnic tables. He’s sitting in one with his back turned to her…

Diana Prince

Diana smiled somewhat at that. He seemed to trust her a great deal, which she was grateful for. She trusted him as well. ”I would be honored to.” She said and well… she approached and sat down opposite him. She was very mindful of personal space. Plus she was able to look the person in the eye this way. ”I spoke to Kara just now.” Diana informed. ”And I was about to check on Alexandra as well.” Now, she could be alone inside. Outside was the big no-go. ”But I have time for you as well.” A faint smile was given to him.

Captain James T. Kirk

Couldn’t look at Diana, either. Nod. Nod. Nod. “This isn’t like Krall”, he warns, “…Nor Khan”, faint smile, “…It’s not definitive”, resting his hand over his heart: but that smile is crumbling into something a tad more serious. “…It’s in here. All over. And it’s not leaving”

Diana Prince

Diana however, was looking at him. Probably had something to do with her stature as Goddess of Truth. One didn’t need to use the Lasso of Truth to read people. Subtle movements, gestures. All of it. But she wasn’t prying too much. Right now she was just listening. ”This may be your most challenging task yet.” Diana stated. And in no small part, she was most likely right. ”But I have faith in you and your wonderful crew.” She truly did. They just had to remain strong, remain together. As for his gesture to his heart, she knew. ”I once told you there is a way to get rid of it.” Permanently. To a degree. Unless he was dwindling down the spiral again. But it would be from scratch.

Captain James T. Kirk

Stay. Go. Remain. Pike. George. Though Kirk, removed his right hand from over his heart and laid that arm upon the picnic table, “…Use it again”…

Diana Prince

Oh dear. Again? And he was willingly offering, too. For a moment she studied his hand, before she looked at his face. One of her free hands went to grab that LoT, (Lasso of Truth), from her hip. He knew how this worked. And so she wrapped it around his wrist. It was on. He had something he wanted to tell. And she would honor that. ”There is something you wish to tell me.” The Lasso wasn’t activated yet. It was just to make sure she was on the right track.

Captain James T. Kirk

“Ask me anything”, still couldn’t look at Diana. Kirk is facing the table, though he offers no resistance to the LoT, (Lasso of Truth), being secured around said wrist. It was almost becoming a pseudo-confessional-area with Diana….

Diana Prince

”Fair enough.” Again, she was rather gentle with him, than she would be with others. It always hurt more using it against friends and allies. She took no pleasure in using in, if she were to be honest. And so she activated the LoT, (Lasso of Truth), and Diana’s gaze went to Kirk’s face. ”I can tell you wish to tell me something.” Her tone calm, yet somehow giving the vibe of her being in charge right at this moment. ”What is it you wish to tell me?”

Captain James T. Kirk

He opened his right palm out, then rested his hand flat onto the table beneath his arm. In fact, probably the same arm that has the LoT, (Lasso of Truth), around his wrist. Patience. Time. Practice. “…Predictions are Dire for our Survival”

Diana Prince

Troubling indeed. They were greatly outnumbered, that was true. But sometimes it wasn’t numbers that won wars. Something they had to bear in mind. ”You are right to be worried. We all are, not just you.” She stated, having been to a few wars herself. They never ended. ”However, you should know that not only numbers win wars. We have a chance here. One that we are going to take.” He had managed to assemble people here, which was not so bad.

Captain James T. Kirk

“I….” Staring down to his left hand, then turning to see the palm, “…Ordered an Angel dead. I’ve…Ordered a Super-human to attack an innocent succubus. I’ve…crossed paths with Gods and Spat in their faces. I’ve….Killed without remorse”, Kirk confides, “….Where is the end-game?” He asks, “…I go to them. Everyone Dies. I Stay. They’re Tortured”, he closed his eyes, “…WE all Die”…..

Diana Prince

The angel was… a delicate situation. No one outright killed him. And it was all based on misinformation. Or lack thereof. ”The death of the angel is one I take responsibility for.” More so since she held the LoT, (Lasso of Truth), at the time. ”I do not take no for an answer.” She said that sternly. It means – she truly won’t. As for the succubus thing, there was something Kirk didn’t know. Yes, it was a partial order but what people didn’t know was that Kara had a desire to do it. Not to kill. But to put her in a state where she could be apprehended. ”And if I told you Kara partially wanted to do that?” She let that sink in. Had it been told to Diana in trust? Yes. But Kara had been scared of admitting it. ”As have we all. Everyone has killed without remorse.” So that was nothing really new. Now, she wasn’t condoning it. But rather keeping it real. ”You stay and we strike back harder than they do.” He was troubled. Very troubled. ”If you go, everything is over. That cannot happen.” Again, she isn’t taking a no. Bossy woman, she is. ”And so we do it our own way.” Most people viewed them asgood guys. And to a degree, they were. But said title had come from others, not themselves. They were more like vigilantes or rebels now. ”A crew like this play by their own rules.”

Captain James T. Kirk

“Ask me something”, Kirk wasn’t going to give her detail. Diana, would have to figure them out herself. After altogether, dismissing her earlier words. Outside. Picnic Table. Dark. Right at home….LoT around his right wrist…

Diana Prince

Diana looked at him, who had seemingly not answered anything she had said. ”Did any of that reach your ears at all?” Because it was important. As for the questions, they could be any. ”As for your… inner demons.” Darkness. That thing. ”Are you willing to let me help?” Gave that a moment to process. ”And how willing are you go through with it?” She would hate to force the issue. But if she had to, she would. ”The world needs you, James. The real you.”

Captain James T. Kirk

Silence. Silence “…………”, though Kirk does give her three nods of the head, confirming his answers…”Not Yet”, he affirms, “It’s Too Early….I need more time”….

Diana Prince

”Then you better use that time wisely, James.” Someone had to be the stern one. Leave it to Diana Prince to be that stern one. She was like a cock-rock, in that sense. ”Then my offer will remain for you.” Until he chose it was time. And then she had a question that was more about her than anything. ”Do you think I should remain here, helping your people?” A brief pause. ”Or should I be by his side?” Steve, that was. The offer of Cleansing Kirk’s Darkness, (Along with: Severing a: Certain Connection. Severing a: Certain Bond): was a promise made by Diana/The Amazons: no matter what.

Captain James T. Kirk

“Go where you want to”, Kirk offers, “As for me?” He says, “…I’m too far gone now”, he admits to this, “….And they have to know that I’m still tainted”, way beyond tainted…

Diana Prince

A vague answer. She was torn, admittedly. But she would have to stay, then. She both wanted Steve here and not. ”Which means we all have to protect you the more.” If he slipped, everything would be lost. ”Make use of us. And let everyone know you’re still tainted.”

Captain James T. Kirk

“And tell you to go where? To some unknown ground base, with 20,000 ARMED INQUISITORS”, calm down Kirk, “….They want me, to go to their compound” Was he getting anything right? “…If I go? Then?” Nods the head, “…I can…work with them…Decoy”, Right, “…While you. Everyone. Hit them. Destroy them”, nods, “….I can, maybe? Send some signals?”, somehow…Be: The Inside Man…

Diana Prince

Diana listened to him speak. It was a sound plan. At the same time very risky. ”I can handle 3,000.” And in truth, she could. Not at once. But over time. Plus they had Kara too. Those two together could, technically, beat said army. Given time. ”And how do you know the difference between falling completely and still being a decoy?” A valid question. It was too risky. It was a question he had to ask himself as well.

Captain James T. Kirk

Silence. Kirk debated on how to answer the question, “….If I, come to them, too strong? They’ll Know”, nods: sure they will, “If I…come to them? Lost? They won’t”, of course they won’t. Though with all of those dark forces pulling, prying and wheedling their way into him? Kirk is Very…Confused…

Diana Prince

”And if you bring Alexandra?” She let that sit. Which made it more risky. At the same time, he mentioned decoy. Why not make it more plausible? ”They would think they have won.” Diana speculated. ”Giving us a great opportunity to strike from the inside and the outside.” Since they would most likely lower their defenses.

Captain James T. Kirk

“Noooooooooooooooooo!!!” Kirk shouted, “No…”, shook his head, “Protect. Protect Her. If she comes? They’ll separate us. Parted. Not Together”, rambling it seems, “…Not like the plan”, nods, “…Apart. But Together. She knows…..She’ll hate me…..They’ll hate me…..”, the crew will hate him: but there was a calling from somewhere…

Diana Prince

Diana could relate to how he felt. In no small part that was what she felt in regards to Steve. She wanted to protect him because she loves him. Away from all this. ”She’ll never hate you, James. She loves you.” As for her being protected, she would be. By her and Kara. And others. ”You going is too risky, however.” More so due to how close to falling he was. One snap of the fingers and he would join them. And without his word from the inside, how could they strike? ”We need to stand together. They will know everything if you go.”

Captain James T. Kirk

“What if I’ve already fallen too far?” Kirk asks, “…I haven’t told anyone this yet” Kirk, carefully removes each of the contact lenses, covering each of his eyes: and what color is presented to Diana? Hmm? Well: Red Rimmed Yellow, Eyes: in all of their glory…..

Diana Prince

Diana watched him closely as he removed those lenses. That had been a question she had yet to ask. How he had fallen, yet kept his blue eyes. She took a deep breath, honored he was telling her this. ”If you had, you would not be here now would you?” Diana said. ”You would be kneeling before a master like some dog.” Yes. She was not keen of that. ”You have not fallen too far because you are stronger than them. Stronger than they will ever be.” Diana stated, never looking away. ”Tell them. Everyone. Lies is what will ruin us, not the enemy.” Yes, she was harsh. But she wasn’t one that allowed lies to get between people.

Captain James T. Kirk

Kirk was going to answer her? But: he just as quickly closed his eyes and rested his head on the table. Eyes closed, “I don’t feel well”

Diana Prince

Diana’s features softened then. Of course he didn’t feel well. Who could blame Kirk? ”Then perhaps you should get some rest.” She suggested.

Alex Danvers

Soon enough, Danvers was on her way to the Inn, escorted by her sister no less. On their way, they would pass that picnic area. One that was occupied by two people. Diana and Kirk. She had not seen either the entire day. All day had she been alone in the cottage. No one to talk to and bored out of her mind. This sucked. Why was she getting more protecting than others? Well… partially because she asked for it. But it sucked. She should be able to walk freely out here. ”Hey you two.” She smiled faintly at Kirk and Diana, though didn’t want to interrupt the two. ”Kara and me, will be inside.” Maybe they would join?

Kara Zor-El

Kara was helping her sister, keeping her safe from any and all, unwanted danger. Despite feeling low herself. And Kirk didn’t seem to feel all that great, either. The two of them probably suffered the most right now. Maybe. Possibly. ”Hey Kirky! Hey Diana!” Kara waved at them both as she led her sister to the door. ”You should come inside.” She offered. They should all just… hang. Or something.

Captain James T. Kirk

Even his facial features were rather pale, along with his distinctive, Red Rimmed Yellow Eyes. So prominent now, especially within this darkness. Kirk slowly opens those eyes, and promptly closes them once more…

Diana Prince

Diana observed Kirk for a moment, before looking at the Danvers sister, greeting them both with a polite smile. ”James is not feeling very well and is tired.” That was the truth. Somewhat. ”If he wishes to remain here, you are welcome to join us.” Diana said. ”Unless he wishes to go inside.” He should rest, though.

Alex Danvers

That worried her and so she made her way over to said picnic table, with Kara not far behind. ”What’s wrong?” Maybe he was feeling sick or had some illness going on. Either way, she wanted and needed to know. Concerned girlfriend is concerned.

Kara Zor-El

Kara was curious about that too. Could be physical or emotional pain. Or both. No one was feeling their best at this point. Especially not their Captain, most likely. But today she had gotten some perspective. Of what she had to do. For them all. Kara was just as concerned as her sister now. ”Can we help?” She didn’t ask what the problem was. Just outright asked if they could help.

Diana Prince

By now the, LoT, (Lasso of Truth), was also removed from Kirks wrist. Since she would not question him further. She had learned things here.

Captain James T. Kirk

Kirk isn’t in the mood for moving: not one bit. All he wants to do is to rest, to close his eyes; even as those toxins, continue to have free reign all over him……

Alex Danvers

Kirk wasn’t saying much. Which worried her even more. And so she sat down next to him, hazel eyes focused on him. ”I’m here.” Always. Even if she had not been physically present much this day. He seemed really tired and unwilling to move. And so they would remain here.

Kara Zor-El

And Kara took the other spot next to Kirk. A Danvers sister on each side. Well-protected then for sure. Kirk seemed to have hit rock bottom. Much like she had today. Still, she tried. To remain strong. ”So am I.”
