Malakai Octavian

There was a time and place for everything and while he typically spent most of his nights ingrained within the world of the Red Light District, his days, due to the absolute lack and need to sleep, were often spent on business conquests and the fertile profits that could be gained. Many hours of research had provided him with a number of businesses throughout the district that suited him best and with business names, licenses and information on file, it had only taken him a short while thereafter through the use of his resources to learn that an accomplice of one such business owner had been located in the city’s most famous tavern.

He walks through the doors of the tavern with an ease of purpose, startlingly blue eyes, unabashed in the way they flit through the room before his attention is stolen by the figures of both robed man and the similarly cloaked figure that he can only assume is feminine. He moved quickly through the room, taking up residence in the seat next to them both. “Sorry for the intrusion but are either of you Sasuke Firemist?”

Sasuke “Sassy” Firemist
^The girl’s hands are gloved and the gloves are hand knitted. She uses her index finger for tension. The fabric she is making is in the round. She wraps the yarn around her hook multiple times and pull it through the loops and stitches. The cat ears under the cloak twitches and she looks over to the man that just came in. She clears her throat before speaking up^

<Having not being interrupted from watching the small woman Hakan turns to Malakai her white eyes glaring at him.>

Sasuke “Sassy” Firemist
Sass: I am her. How may I help you? ^She then puts away the project^

Hakan L. Plainview
<Taking a sip from her coffee she watches the man and the the small woman, but soon looks away so not to be rude. She still wants to learn what craft the small woman was doing for it really interested her>

Malakai Octavian
He’s used to the stares, even more used to the glares that come this day and age due to his vampiric nature. It’s a stench that hangs onto him despite his best attempts to free himself of it. It’s much harder to hide the overbite of fangs and incisors that warrant at least half his species. The smaller of the two, the girl with gloved hands, clears her throat and he shifts in response to face her rather than the stranger she keeps alongside her.

“My name is Malakai. I’m an investor,” he states right away. “I’m aware that you own a business in the Red Light District and I’ve taken interest in a number of surrounding buildings, including your own. I have a card, if you’d like to see it.” He reaches a pale hand into his pocket, pulling out a business card that he slides over the bar to her, rather than pushing it directly into the woman’s grasp.

Sasuke “Sassy” Firemist
Man: Give us the card. ^He speaks up before he looks down at Sasuke^ Shut up and be quiet. ^He says in a stern tone. She frowns at the man before going silent^ She does have a business in the District. Why are you interested in it? Are you planning on buying the property or something else?

Hakan L. Plainview
<It was not out of disrespect that she glared at Malakai it was more that he intruded that small woman working. Hakan was use to working with weapons and computers. She had never seen anyone work with their hands the way the small woman had and it was different than anything else she had seen.>

Malakai Octavian
The man accompanying the woman is shrewd, jumping in on a conversation that Malakai believes is best had between owner and potential investor, in this case Malakai. His blue eyes, sharp and elicit, pointedly turn toward said stranger before he raises a brow and leans back in his seat, the stool croaking at his weight before he clears his throat and continues.

“Basically, what I do is simple. I come in, invest my money into a business. I fix things, add structures that I believe would increase business revenue. I provide ideas, marketing strategy, even hire and fire employees that may or may not be bringing in business. I put you closer to your clientele and flush the business with enough consumer interest that revenue rises and losses are all but dismissed.”

His fingers find their way back to his pockets and he lightly shrugs. “I do all this for limited partnership in the business which means a very small portion of the business’ profits are given to me in honor for my work.” In short, he’s both book keeper, manager, agent, and marketing expert. A job that very well stands as corrupt as any other but a fruitful businessman no less. “I have no personal interest in buying the business from you. From what I’ve examined, the business has been rather slow which makes you a perfect fit for my skills.”

Hakan L. Plainview

<Twitching pointed ears listen to the man before she shakes her head>

Sasuke “Sassy” Firemist
^Sass nods a bit as she listens to Malakai. When she goes to say something, her will is dominated by the commend of being quiet. So she remains silent. The man nods as he ponders on it and mulls it over a bit before speaking up again^ And how much of the profits are you looking to get?

Malakai Octavian
“After the business is in full gear, I imagine you’ll be making a margin of at least three hundred percent over what you’re used to making. Based on my predictions, business in the Red Light District due to the current predicament with a new Emperor afoot, is going to boom.” He shifts weight from one side of the stool to the other, flashing a devilish half-fanged grin.

“Being that negotiators often start high and consumer typically fights for a lower rating, I won’t pretend. I want ten percent of overall business transactions and another three percent annually until the business is either in default or has died down. That’s the lowest I’ll go for either and believe me, that’s a better deal than I typically offer others. The only reason I’m so low is because…” he pauses, glancing toward the girl.

“Reliable resources tell me that Sasuke, no offence, is a vampire and the local humans don’t take well due to the recent Giovanni and vampire war that took place in Consequence a few months ago.”

Sasuke “Sassy” Firemist
Man: She’s only a hybrid. Then again, humans weren’t the first to destroy her business. ^She rewards the man a glare. She hides her hand just to flip him off. The man just rewards her with a smack right up side the head. She rubs her head and scowls at him again. She now is just sitting there and pouting^ Ignore her. She is but a child with her behavior. Now, I am sure you know about the rubble and it’s going to take time to rebuild. You said you’ll take care of that. What exactly are your plans to deal with the debris?

Hakan L. Plainview
Lions…what would they want with you? You seem to small for a meal…<She caught the word rebuild and looked over at Sassy and her companion as well as the other man>

Malakai Octavian
“No offense taken,” he chides lightly. “As I mentioned before, I do thorough research. The debris will be removed. If there’s any current infrastructure left, it’ll be reused, remade, only better than it was before, The business next door is empty which means that if I provide money to buy the building in Sasuke’s name, we can use it to extend the building, thus making room for more waitresses and staff, as well as more bedrooms for the men and women who’ll be frequenting the brothel,” he states matter-of-fact like, turning to face Harry who slides a glass over the bar toward him.

The light chink of ice in an amber liquor reflect highly upon the man’s taste before he sips at it and continues. “With my investment added to your own, we can have it built and off the ground no later than two weeks from now not permitting the destruction or death of employees which could happen with the current legislate and ruling party.” He sets the drink back down and once more turns his gaze to the duo.

“Of course, nothing I do will be done without first running it by the two of you. After all, this isn’t my business. It’s yours. My best interest is seeing things done right so that the business itself will run smoothly when operations are complete.”

This whole time, of course, he’s felt Hakan’s gaze, felt as if she’s been watching and listening in on their conversation. His eyes occasionally drift her way only to fall short when he’s something to say or when Sasuke, or the man, speaks to him.

Hakan L. Plainview
He is the bar keeper <She looks at Malakai her head tilted slightly in question>

Sasuke “Sassy” Firemist
^The man nods once more. He then scratches at the five o’ clock shadow on his chin. He mulls this over some more. He thinks it would do her some good, seeing how much Sass loves goofing off there^ I agree that things should be done right. How much control would her and I, and you would have with this partnership? Sasuke has her own… Method of madness and she hates that to be disturbed too much.

Malakai Octavian
“Sasuke can still run the business the way she always has. It’ll be hers still, after all, but when it comes to new staff or firing old or partitions in marketing, final say should be left to me until the end term of the contract is finalized, aka, when the boom from war efforts and people’s lusty desires subside.” He moves to grab hold of his drink again, admiring it with a small grin.

“Business of this sort never really dies completely but there’ll come a time when things slow down. Our contract could last until the end of next year or for a few years tops. The business plan will change due to the arrival of more clientele and employees but once settled, no new changes would need to be made other than the occasional event or marketing scheme to drag in more customers. That’s all something we can go over at a later date.”

He pauses at that point, fingers drawn from his drink and reaches into the unbuttoned portion of his suit jacket, to the pocket kept close to his heart, hidden and zipped. It takes a moment to retrieve a folded copy of of a sliver of paper there within that he slides over the bar toward the two of them. “This is a contract stating that you agree to my terms and in the necessary portion of the dividends I’ll be collecting during the time period we’re partners in your business. It states the volume of money I’ll be flooding into repairs and rebuilding, also the terms for which the contract are null and void.”

“You can read it over and sign it now or you can take your time, have your lawyers go over it and make corrections and have it sent to me afterward for my signature. Any questions?”

Hakan L. Plainview
<She looks at Malakai having heard his words and is rather curious of his business. She had the dealings with book keeps in her past and a lot of them she did not care for.> You know human you are free to do as you wish here <She speaks to Dark>

Sasuke “Sassy” Firemist
^The man takes the papers before Sasuke has even gotten a chance to grab it. He skims over it to see if there are any loopholes or anything noteworthy at this point in time^ We will look over this. Once it comes time to rebuild, you will be speaking to Sasuke since I know she has a lot of design plans, particularly about her office.

Malakai Octavian
“Consider it done, then,” he states with a small grin, rising from his seat. “There’s other business to be done and I have a busy day ahead of me. I look forward to working with you both.” Customarily, it would have been wise to shake hands. He can’t imagine either of them are the sort to do that so he doesn’t make a move to do the aforementioned. Instead, he offers a nod of his head, a glance toward Hakan, and he bends down to peer at both of them. “It looks like you both have a fan,” before he nods in Hakan’s direction and then heads for the door, letting it close hard behind him as he heads in the direction of the District.

Sasuke “Sassy” Firemist
^The man nods to Malakai’s words. Sass would of shaken hands. She has learned a few things from her dad’s business dealings. She lets him leave. The man glares over to Sasuke^ You may speak now, you fucking whore.
